Putting Your Bra On
There are different theories as to the best way to put on a bra, but we all have a way that we have stuck with and feel comfortable with. However, there are a few critical points that you need to pay attention to when adjusting the bra and your boobs to make everything sit properly.
- Loosen the shoulder straps before putting the bra on. When you have the band adjusted correctly, you can tighten the shoulder straps. They should support the breasts lightly, without too much pressure on the shoulders. (80% of the bra support comes from the band/back strap, and 20% from the shoulder straps.)
- Use the middle row of clips to fasten to. This means you have the option of going tighter or looser down the track.
- Ensure the band wire sits at the point where the breast tissue begins, not too far below it or on the breast tissue itself.
- Lean forward, holding the wire out from your ribcage slightly and ‘jiggle’ the bra by moving it left and right a few times. This will allow the breasts to fall naturally into the cup, and you will find they sit higher as you straighten up.
- You may need to ‘re-arrange’ your breasts within the bra, so that they sit as symmetrical as possible.

Most of us have one breast larger than the other. It is recommended that when you purchase a bra, get one that is fitted to the larger breast size to avoid any unsightly bulges.
