Changes to our Opening Hours from April 2019 - Frequently Asked Questions

As from 1st April 2019, we have changed our Newmarket shop opening hours. Below may help answer some of your questions about our new hours. If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can also find our Opening Hours on our CONTACT US  page.

What are your new shop hours?

We are still open 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday 10am – 5pm (Sunday has been extended by an hour)*.   We do extend our opening hours over December and January. *Excludes Public Holidays 

When do they take effect?

Monday 1st April 2019.

Why have you changed your hours?

At Avokado, we want the best for our customers and staff and have made this decision to enable our staff to properly concentrate on our ever increasing administrative side without distractions (outside of opening hours).  This also ensures that when our store is open, the focus is entirely on you and your needs.  We have also offered a little bit more time off for our staff, to enhance their work/life balance.

Why don't you open longer hours and get some more part time staff?

We don’t want our customers to be served by inexperienced or under-trained staff. As part of the Avokado experience, we want our customers to be served by trained, motivated, experienced fitters (especially important because of the complex nature of the products we sell). To enable us to keep great staff long term, we are committed to providing them with a healthy work/life balance, which is becoming increasingly important in our developed society.

What if I can't make it during those hours?

We are happy to take appointments between 9am - 10am and 5pm - 6pm, but do require at least 24 hours before hand to arrange staff members to see you.  Please send an email to sales@avokado.co.nz, to arrange a day/time.

I usually come to you just after 9.30am during the week, as this is the only time that suits me.  Are you able to see me then?

Yes, if you arrive between 9.30am and 10am, we will be able to accommodate you, or please make an appointment as above.
